I just downloaded Windows Live Essentials Wave 4 which I’m really starting to like. The biggest change would be for Windows Live Messenger, a totally new and not to mention cool look. A new Social area has been added in which allows you to read your feed from Facebook, Twitter etc. Recently the US MSN home page was revamped bringing a whole new look, after that the log in page for Windows Live Mail was updated to a cleaner and simpler look. I am guessing Wave 4 is being rolled out bits by bits. I am aware that MSN and Windows Live isn’t related.
Its planned that on June 3rd, Microsoft would announce Wave 4 and on June 7th a public beta would be released. Finally on August 25th Microsoft releases Windows Live Essentials Wave 4 RTM. This are all predicted and may or may not happen.
I’m a big fan of Windows Live, I’ve been a user for a long time. I mainly use Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Mail. Anyway, Windows Live Messenger now has tabbed conversations. Also new icons. A social view has been added like I’ve mentioned before and the group navigation had been improved.
You have two new modes, which is the ‘Contacts Mode’ and the ‘Social Mode’. You could switch to either one. Basically, the Contacts Mode will only display your contacts and the Social Mode will display your contacts and your social time lime.
This is the Social Mode view:

You can get the installer here but it wont work alone, so you’ll need a patch too. Credits to My Microsoft Life for the links
I didn’t do a full review, so you can get a better and more detailed one at My Microsoft Life.
